The Open Championship

The 1991 British Open Golf Championship was keenly contested, but in the end it belonged to the Australians, and in particular to Ian Baker-Finch, who at last won golf's most treasured trophy, and to Mike Harwood, who finished as runner-up. It was an unpredictible Open, for the top Europeans - Faldo, Woosnam, Olazabal and Ballesteros - started among the favourites but finished disappointingly low in the final placings.
