Based on the book "The NME Rock 'n' Roll Years", this text is part of a series of books which take a look at the main popular musical influences of each decade. Each page contains the main stories of the month together with a chart toppers box showing the No 1 US and UK singles and albums. A record section at the end of the book provides a statistical analysis of the charts. The Sixties probably represents the ultimate in rock musical creativity. The decade began with the twist and included The Beatles, the Merseybeat, Motown and "flower power".
