The witch-baby - Cara Lockhart Smith

On the morning after Halloween Sophie Starling sets off for school at the crack of dawn abd finds a peculiar baby abandoned in a scrap yard. The baby has been left behibd by its witch mother after the Halloween party and it persuades Sophie to look after it for the day until its mother comes to collect it. The witch-baby attracts a lot of attention at school where the children think at first that it is a doll. But Sophie soon finds she has taken on more than she`s bargained for when the baby puts spells on the childrens` paintings, plays havoc with the school dinners and drives her teacher frantic.
