Phoebe Piper, aged three, went missing on a family holiday. Seven years later Molly Armitage, the same age as Phoebe would've been and bearing an uncanny resemblance to her, feels there's something wrong in her life. Dan's death brings his long-lost sister Janice back to Norfolk where she's re-united with Molly's mother Suzie, the daughter she gave up for adoption. As she is drawn back into the past, Janice begins to wonder if Dan's death is quite what it seems.
