Following the death of his wife, George becomes sick of his humdrum life and decides to buy a house in New Zealand after seeing an Internet advertisement. After some disagreement the children submit to leaving their Australian lives behind with their father, but what they don't expect is the poor state of the house and the promises that it refuses to fulfil. With no other option but to make a go of things, George puts on a brave face and immerses himself in his new life in New Zealand. In this series, George's relationship with Jan (Bridie Carter) is in turmoil while George lands himself a new job and may finally be able to buy his dream house.
