Description

The journey to the harbour at Amsterdam continues. At Utrecht the route goes past the National Railway Museum before regaining the main line towards Hilversum. North of Hilversum is the Amsterdam commuter area, and the 66 has to pick its way carefully through the traffic it passes through the centre of Holland's largest city. Near the Central Station we pass a couple of ICEs inbound from and outbound to Frankfurt, before pausing to pick up a shunter who will help at the docks. West of CS work is in full swing on the modernisation of the approaches, while down at the docks Railion are preparing to depart with a massive coal train for the Ruhr.
