Sensible Soccer, created by Jon Hare, arguably set the standard for that type of footy game, but since its demise the style has languished. But Hare, with developer Tower Studios, is back in the fray with Sociable Soccer in its latest iteration, Sociable Soccer 25. Play in Sociable Soccer 25 emphasises speed and fluidity. It definitely falls into the category of 'easy to learn, difficult to master'. You won't spend ages grasping for the basics, but nor will you find yourself hitting a ceiling in your progression. While gameplay harks back to an earlier time, however, Sociable Soccer doesn't ignore more recent developments. You'll find a career mode, for example, which has you climbing the leagues and upgrading your squad as you go. And, of course, there's a fully-featured online multiplayer mode alongside couch multiplayer. Sociable Soccer 25 has teamed up with FIFPRO, too, and the result is up-to-date player, team and contest data for the 24/25 season for over 1,400 club and national teams, and 13,000 different officially licensed players to take for a run out!
