Transport, regulation and control - Mary Jones

This book aims to develop an understanding of the transport mechanisms in mammals and flowering plants. It includes a detailed study of the structure and function of the heart, kidney and liver in mammals. Control of water content and pH is examined, as well as the importance of homeostasis in mammals and the use of negative feedback mechanisms.
To help students with study and revision, there are self-assessment questions throughout the text, a list of learning objectives at the start of each chapter and a summary of the contents at the end. Structured and essay questions also appear at the end of each chapter.
