Description

Following the classic animated series of Toy Story, Disney Interactive produced a serious of games to match. Not content with great platforming action, Toy Story is now making its debut in the racing genre. While the game is said to be a Toy Story equivalent of Mario Kart, how does it compare to the Nintendo classic? After a brief introduction, you can participate in the game's linear championship. Here, you will first need to choose a desired character; the whole Toy Story cast is present, including Woody, Buzz and Bo Peep. From here on in, you'll begin climbing a ladder of coloured playing blocks that represent stages of the game. You must win each stage in a specified order to collect a toy soldier. Collecting these valuable pieces of plastic gains you the right to access the next area of the game. All challenges will take place in a variety of vehicles, but not all tasks involve racing. There are some stages that are more suited to battle modes of play, whereby you must be the last man standing in an arena full of weapons. Weapon strategy is important when playing Toy Story Racer, since careless racing will win you nothing. As a complete challenge, there are a respectable eighteen courses that span as many as 200 levels. While Toy Story Racer doesn't match the challenge of Mario Kart, its simpler challenges and shallow learning curve make it easy to play. It reaches its younger target audience with ease, and that's what makes it a great game for children, and even some adults.
