Twilight tales - Yuichi Kumakura

While Jing talks with Shin Lu, a monster-like creature with a huge bird head for an arm attacks. Jing runs around the city as "Bloody Caesar", who was created by combining over 30 people together, continues to chase. Thanks to a shopkeeper, Jing is able to hide and then learns how Rusty Nail is a city that specializes in providing spare body parts to those in need. Once Jing leaves the store he is soon spotted by Blood Caesar again. Jing uses a Kir Royale but it has no effect as Bloody Caesar is able to regenerate his damaged body. Jing then injects the creature with a serum that disrupts Bloody Caesar's body. He then goes to the center of the city to confront the Holy Brain which controls everything. Bloody Caesar shows up again but falls apart as he's about to attack Jing but not before saying he'll see Jing in hell. Jing finally reaches the brain which behind it's large facade is just wires coming out of a tin can. Jing's plan, for some reason, is to free the brain and let it experience actual life. The brain is later transferred into the body of a large bird where it is free to fly and see the world. Jing comments on how happy it looks now.;The book ends with Shin Lu asking Jing and Kir if she can come along with them.
