Banned across most American states and illegal to even view in many countries, the Ultimate Fighting Championship is one of the most controversial but popular 'sports' of all time. Okay, so you probably can't go to a match and you can't usually watch it on the TV, but at least you can play your own virtual game, thanks to Crave and Ubi Soft. Yes, Ultimate Fighting Championship is coming to Xbox!

As far as authenticity is concerned, many of you will not know what's true to life and what isn't in the game world. We don't know either, but the developers tell us that the game has been designed to accurately portray both the fight and the atmosphere surrounding Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The game contains a full roster of many of the world's most accomplished athletes, but given the brutality of the sport, we can't say how long this list will be accurate. Not to worry, we're sure there will be several EA-style updates in the near future.

Technically, UFC is quite stunning. The game features superbly modelled characters that, although not completely realistic, look fantastic nonetheless. And the fight all takes place in a highly detailed arena complete with a screaming crowd. So that takes care the game's atmospheric qualities, but how does it play?

Well, to be honest, it's like most other arena-based fighting games. A simple combination of button and directional movements result in various on-screen punches, manoeuvres and block stances. But it's up to you to decide which is best and when, and that's where the challenge lies.

To conclude, Ultimate Fighting Championship is a brutal but compelling video game. People may say video game violence is a bad thing, but there are millions of us who would disagree.
