It tells the story of fictional company Hi-T Composites and how it solves major production and management problems, and greatly improves its business results, when a senior manager is put in charge of turning the company around and step by step she applies the velocity approach to sorting out the company's many issues.

Velocitytakes a big step forward by being the first management book to introduce a method for combining the three leading business re-engineering methods. Six Sigma, Lean Thinking, and The Theory of Constraints, into one much more powerful, cohesive approach.

While the business community has figured out how to combine Lean and Six Sigma in an approach now widely referred to as Lean Six Sigma (LSS), the business results obtained have been widely discouraging.
