Since the 1950s, pharmacy's share of pet medicine sales has declined from about 80 per cent to a level of 10 per cent in 2002. However, with an estimated 26 million companion animals in the UK, and a pet care market worth around #200 million, there is enormous potential for pharmacists in pet medicine sales.
