Description

Commemorative documentary based on ITN archive news footage of the Argentinean invasion of the UK-controlled Falkland Islands in 1982. Thousands of Argentine troops descended on the islands and easily overtook the small detachment of British Troops who were stationed there. The UN Security Council called for the withdrawal of the Argentinean troops, as British troops advanced by sea en masse. Argentina did eventually surrender the land - but only after a bloody battle with nearly 1000 casualties.
