Description

Collection of documentary vignettes looking at life in the city of Dundee. The story of the city's origins, 'Dundee' (1939), was abandoned on its first performance due to the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939, while 'Children of the City' (1943) looks at war-time Dundee as the populace struggle with caring for their families and working for the war effort. Also included is 'The Opening of Green's Playhouse', 'The Tay Bridge Disaster', and 'Railway Ride Over the Tay Bridge'.
