Description

Documentary on Seattle's soul and funk scene of the 1960s and early 1970s. At the advent of disco in 1975, Seattle's black music scene changed beyond all recognition and the acts and records of the previous decade quickly fell by the wayside. Fast forward to 2001 when a local DJ finds a rare 45 in a second hand store, and thus begins a journey of discovery into the lost music of a city now better known for giving birth to the grunge movement. Jennifer Maas's award-winning film tracks down the movers and shakers behind the old school floor-fillers and celebrates Seattle's funky forgotten past.
