Collection of three films about Muhammad Ali. 'When We Were Kings' (1996) tells the true story of the legendary 'Rumble in the Jungle' of 1974, in which Muhammad Ali endured a titanic battle with George Foreman. The fight took place in Zaire amidst a wealth of publicity and political intrigue, and this film, pieced together over 20 years, chronicles it all. The film won the Academy Award for Best Feature Documentary. With access to Ali's personal audio journals as well as his friends and family members, 'I Am Ali' (2014) explores how he became an internationally recognised celebrity and countercultural figure due to a provocative and entertaining nature, and also examines how he was with those closest to him while at the top of his game. 'The Trials of Muhammad Ali' (2015) details the public scrutiny Ali was forced to contend with after refusing to be conscripted into the US military in 1967. Declaring himself as being opposed to the US involvement in the war in Vietnam, Ali was faced with a five-year prison sentence and a ban from competing in his chosen profession.
