They never released any singles; most of their albums have no lettering or titles of any description; they spent their early years touring in America -- but all that aside, Led Zeppelin remain probably the greatest, biggest- selling heavy rock band of all time. Their early sound was heavily blues-influenced, but every schoolboy (and many a schoolgirl) can immediately identify 'Stairway to Heaven' from Led Zeppelin IV, the record that cemented Led Zep's place in rock's hall of fame.
