They reinforce vocabulary but include a more challenging element to push upward toward the next level. The "Stage 2 Consolidation" cluster ("Bear Tales" by Celia Warren and Alison Hawes) consists of 3 amusing stories about Big Bear and his friends, illustrated by John Blackman.;These stories consolidate the vocabulary learned in the "Stage 2 Duck Green Stories". The "Stage 2 Extension" cluster ("Tig Stories" by Paul Shipton) consists of 3 stories about a friendly monster's first experiences of school, illustrated by Clive Scruton. These stories extend vocabulary from Stage 2. The books are available in both standard and 'big book' format.
