Monument of the arcade game, Windjammers was released in 1994 on the NEOGEO system, and stands as one of the rare video game representatives of the flying disc game (frisbee game). A surprising mix of tennis, volleyball and, in some aspects, fighting, Data East's production - here adapted by Dotemu - shines by its gameplay as welcoming as subtle. This accessibility, at the heart of the philosophy of its project manager and programmer Takaaki Inoue, offers an instant and terribly addictive gameplay. Despite its rudimentary principle (two opponents face each other and must score points in the opponent's goal with the help of a frisbee), Windjammers integrates many adrenaline-pumping mechanics: bouncing off walls, lobs, curved trajectories, dash, fast moves, special moves, spinning attacks and other counters make the matches ever more exciting. Designed for multiplayer, Windjammers is particularly popular in competition and can be played both locally and online. Enter the arena!
