Description

Japan had invaded and occupied a great portion of China since the early 1930s and in order to prevent the USA from curtailing their expansion throughout Asia, unexpectedly and without warning attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbour with the intention of crippling the US capital ships. The Japanese continued their aggression and captured Singapore in February 1942, and then engaged the Americans at The Battle of Midway later that year. The American victory that followed proved to be the turning point in the Pacific War.
