Description

Documentary about the battles of Mons and Gallipoli which took place during the First World War. The Battle of Mons, which was the British Expiditionary Force's first major action in the war, resulted in the German Empire's army being delayed in their progression into France by heavily outnumbered British soldiers. The Battle of Gallipoli, which took place over eight months, resulted in victory for the German-supported Ottoman Empire and a huge number of Allied casualties. The anniversary of the battle's commencement, April 25th, is now considered a national day of remembrance (Anzac Day) in Australia and New Zealand.
