It is time for the annual X-Bladez Tournament. The Robot is back and ready to watch his friends compete for the prestigious inline skating medal. For the past five years, the X-Crown has gone to Flapjax, the skating circus monkey. Kids from all over have come to give their best and take a chance at winning the coveted prize that Flapjax has made his own for the past few years. Each racer has been selected as the best from his or her hometown and now goes against the best from everywhere else. Winning is not everything, however: these kids know that they really here just for some free-spirited competition. Well, that's how the purported story goes: in the end, it's all a bit of fun. You won't feel like that when you start to play X-Bladez. Fun, yes, and lots of it. But as in almost any other game, from Gran Turismo to Vib Ribbon, and taking in nearly every point in between, it is a competition to see who performs best, after all, and you don't want to wind up with egg on your face, or palms full of gravel. X-Bladez works well in solo mode, but it's when you go up against some human opposition that this game really shows its worth. It's hardly Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, but as the missing link between that series of games and the likes of Rayman M and Micro Maniacs, it'll more than suffice. Cheap, too! Key Features
