The 5.5” iPhone 6 Could Be Delayed Until Next Year

Apple's long-rumoured 5.5" iPhone 6 won't be released in September, as previously thought, and might not be ready for launch until 2015.

That's according to an insider report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has released accurate pre-release information on Apple products before.

According to Kuo's report, Apple are having technical difficulties with the larger iPhone 6's screen. The larger screen is causing touch sensitivity issues, and it's looking increasingly unlikely that they will be fixed in time for a September launch.

The 5.5" iPhone 6 has been interpreted by many as an attempt to muscle in on a market dominated by Samsung. It is Apple's first attempt at releasing a "˜phablet', so the teething issues aren't too much of a surprise.

The "˜standard' 4.7" version of the iPhone 6 is unaffected by the delays, and is reportedly already ready for launch in September. You can view all the gossip and speculation around Apple's latest phone in our surprisingly easy guide to the iPhone 6.
