Learn all about the musicMagpie Store’s phone grades!

If you’re shopping for a refurbished phone here at musicMagpie, you’ll probably come across a few different conditions to choose from. But what do refurbished phone grades actually mean, and what’s the difference between Pristine, Very Good and Good?

At musicMagpie, our refurbished phone grades are based on the cosmetic condition of the device. So, whether you choose Pristine, Very Good or Good, the grade tells you what you can expect your phone to look like, rather than how well it works.

Every refurbished phone we sell goes through an extensive refurbishment and testing process before it reaches you. That means you can choose the condition that works for you and your budget without compromising on functionality!

What are musicMagpie’s refurbished phone grades?

Refurbished phone grades are used to describe the cosmetic condition of a pre-owned phone after it has been tested and refurbished.

At musicMagpie, we have three refurbished phone grades:

  • Pristine – our highest cosmetic grade, with a near flawless appearance.
  • Very Good – may have very light signs of previous use.
  • Good – will have more noticeable signs of wear and tear.

The important thing to remember is that these grades refer to cosmetic condition, not functionality. A Good condition phone isn’t graded lower because it doesn’t work as well as a Pristine phone – it simply has more visible signs of previous use.

What does Pristine condition mean?

Want a refurbished phone that looks as close to new as possible? Pristine condition could be the one for you.

Our Pristine refurbished phones are near flawless cosmetically and fully tested, giving you a device that’s as good as new without the brand-new price tag.

Choosing Pristine is a great option if the appearance of your phone is important to you or you’d prefer a device without visible signs of its previous life.

What does Very Good condition mean?

If you don’t mind a few very light signs of previous use, a Very Good condition refurbished phone could be a great middle ground.

Very Good devices may have very light signs of use, but they’re still fully tested and work perfectly.

That means you could spot some minor cosmetic signs that the phone has been previously owned, but they’ll be less noticeable than those you’d expect on a Good condition device.

If you’re looking for a balance between cosmetic condition and price, Very Good is well worth considering.

What does Good condition mean?

Want to save and aren’t too bothered about a few signs of previous use? Take a look at our Good condition refurbished phones.

Good devices will show some signs of wear and tear from their previous life, but this doesn’t affect how the phone works. They’re still fully tested just like our other grades.

So, while your phone may not look as spotless as a Pristine device, choosing Good can be a smart option if cosmetic condition isn’t your biggest priority.

And if you’re planning to put your phone straight into a case anyway, a few signs of its previous life might not bother you!

Are musicMagpie refurbished phones tested?

Yep! There’s a lot more to our refurbished phones than giving them a quick once-over.

Every phone goes through an extensive in-house refurbishment process. Our experts test devices for up to 90 potential faults and identify anything that needs fixing during refurbishment. Depending on the device, checks cover everything from the battery and screen to cameras and other key functions.

Plus, every refurbished tech item comes with a free 12-month warranty, covering technical defects and faults caused by improper workmanship or materials.
