The surprisingly easy app of the week: MyFitnessPal
Shift some extra pounds before your holiday with this amazing app.
What is it?
MyFitnessPal lets you track how many calories you consume over the course of a day "" perfect if you're on a diet.
Why is it surprisingly easy?
Two words: barcode scanner. MyFitnessPal scans the food you eat and gives you full nutritional information "" including calories. These calories are added to a counter, giving you a running total for the day.
Any calories you burn through exercise are deducted from this total, which gives you extra incentive to get down to the gym!
Best of all, the nutritional information is easy to digest (no pun intended), which is ideal for those of us who don't know our carbs from our calories.
The best bit
MyFitnessPal lets you set calorie goals, meaning you can stay on track and lose weight quickly.
Also, MyFitnessPal's food database is huge. We tried scanning some obscure snacks from the World Foods aisle and it had them all.
The downside
You'll never eat certain foods again once you've seen the calorie count.
Fun fact
MyFitnessPal has quite a few celeb fans, including Jessica Alba and British comedian Richard Herring.
