Get well soon, Morrissey

Morrissey

Manchester music legend Morrissey has revealed that he is being treated for cancer.

The ex-Smiths frontman told Spanish newspaper El Mundo that he has had a series of treatments for the disease, saying: "If I die, then I die. And if I don't, then I don't. Right now I feel good. I am aware that in some of my recent photos I look somewhat unhealthy, but that's what illness can do. I'm not going to worry about that, I'll rest when I'm dead."

Rumours have been abound about Morrissey's health in recent years after he was forced to cancel a spate of gigs due to various illnesses include pneumonia, food poisoning and a respiratory infection.

Moz is currently on a European tour to promote his latest solo album, World Peace is None of Your Business, and is also writing his first novel.

Get well soon, Morrissey; the world would be a duller place without you.

The BBC gets every singer ever to perform a cover of God Only Knows

The BBC has brought together some of music's biggest stars to cover The Beach Boys' God Only Knows.

Pharrell Williams, One Direction, Florence Welch, Emeli Sande, Dave Grohl and Chris Martin are among the performers featured on the track.

The song, which premiered across the BBC on Tuesday night, was produced to celebrate the launch of BBC Music.

The big question, of course, is how on Earth did the BBC manage to assemble so many big names on one track? God only knows"¦ (we'll get our coat"¦)

David Bowie unveils 3 covers for his new compilation album

The new David Bowie compilation album, Nothing Has Changed, will have 3 different covers, all of which show Bowie looking into a mirror at different stages of his career.

Nothing Has Changed will be released in three different formats, 3CD, 2CD and vinyl, each of which will feature a different cover. The album will include a new song too, Sue (Or In a Season of Crime).

Have a gander at the covers below, and try not to giggle at David's silly haircuts.

Take That (minus Jason Orange) to reveal a new song

Take That, now a trio after losing Jason Orange (not literally, though), have announced they'll be releasing a new song TOMORROW (10th October 2014).

Expect big choruses, sensible man-band clothing and soaring Orange-less vocal melodies.

Beyonce and Jay-Z to release a joint album?

Now, this one is more rumour than news but here is it anyway: Jay-Z and Beyonce may be about to release a joint album.

The pop power couple's apparent plans were revealed by US radio jock DJ Skee, who said "the biggest couple in music, maybe entertainment, maybe the world … they're working on an album together,". He went on to add that it would "˜top everything…even that new U2 album' (you know, the one that everyone begged Apple to remove from their iTunes account"¦)

Either way, don't expect to hear anything from the couple until the album is available; they're planning to drop it on the public with no prior announcement, as Beyonce did with her last album.
