Google unveils brand new Pixel C tablet
Google is set to release a brand new tablet, the Pixel C. Unveiled earlier this week, it's the first tablet to be entirely designed and manufactured by Google in-house.
The Pixel C is produced by the same team behind the premium Pixel Chromebooks. It boasts a 10.2 inch screen, an 8 megapixel camera and an Nvidia Tegra X1 processor for powerful performance. The tablet will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow rather than Google's Chrome OS.
The most intriguing feature, however, is the addition of an optional keyboard which connects to the tablet via magnets. This places the Pixel C firmly in the tablet-laptop hybrid market (the C stands for convertible), where it will face competition from Microsoft's Surface range and Apple's recently announced iPad Pro.
Although no UK release date or price ranges have been confirmed yet, the Pixel C is expected to go on sale in the US at $499 (£330) for the 32GB version and £599 (£396) for the 64GB version. The optional keyboard will cost $149 (£98).
