iPhone 16 Pro Max Rumours

Super telephoto lens

According to iPhone 16 Pro Max camera leaks, the model could get a new super telephoto lens. What is a super telephoto lens, we hear you ask? Essentially, this lens can zoom further than the standard 5x of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

If true, we could see even clearer zooming capabilities. That said, this is an old leak and could be saved for the elusive ‘iPhone Ultra’ model that’s been rumoured for the past few years.

Capture button

There have been plenty of iPhone 16 Pro Max rumours about the potential new Capture button, made specifically for taking photos on the iPhone 16 models.

According to rumours, the Capture button will work as another shutter button, located at the bottom of the right side of the device so it’s easy to use while capturing photos in landscape orientation. It will be able to detect multiple levels of pressure for focusing and then capturing an image.

Upgraded lenses

Rumours suggest an upgraded main camera is on the way for the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max and Apple iPhone 16 Pro. Both Pro models are expected to feature an upgraded 48MP Ultra Wide camera lens, allowing the models to capture more light for improved 0.5x and low-light photos. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is also rumoured to boast a bigger main camera thanks to an advanced custom 48MP Sony IMX903 sensor.

How does the iPhone 16 Pro Max camera compare to the iPhone 15 Pro Max?

It’s a bit too early to say whether it’s worth upgrading from an iPhone 15 Pro Max to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but if we’re basing it off the current iPhone 16 Pro Max camera rumours, it’s definitely worth considering.

If the rumours are all correct, you’ll see a huge change to zooming capabilities, as the iPhone 15 Pro Max only offers a 12MP Ultra Wide lens. Those who prefer taking landscape photos will also find the Capture button much easier to use than the standard shutter button.

We’ll have to wait until the official Apple Keynote to see if the iPhone 16 Pro Max is truly worth the upgrade though!
