On Trees

The Surprisingly Easy App of the Week: OnTrees

Every Thursday, we bring you an app that'll make your life easier. This week's app is the financial management tool OnTrees.

What is it?

OnTrees brings all of your accounts "" bank accounts, credit cards, mortgages and so on "" together to give you a comprehensive but simple overview of your finances. From there, you can determine how much you have to spend, track your expenditures and manage your money accordingly.

It's especially useful if you're about to head off to uni and are worried that you'll have to survive off dried noodles once your loan dries up.

Why is it surprisingly easy?

Managing money can be daunting but OnTrees makes it simple with a brilliant interface and easy-to-read graphs and charts. It will track everything you earn, spend and owe too, which means you know exactly where your money is going. No more wondering where your money went this month even though you went to Starbucks every morning for a venti latte and a croissant!

The best bit

You probably already have an inkling of where you're overspending each month, but OnTree's simple graphs and design really hammers home where you can save money. Over time, you can limit your spending on non-essentials so you can hit your saving targets and not feel that classic sense of dread in the week before payday (although you can always sell your stuff with us if you need extra cash!).

Any downsides?

It won't stop you spending an absolute fortune online after you've had a couple of drinks, and you can technically cheat by not logging certain expenses. Of course, the only person you'll really be cheating is yourself.
