There isn't a huge difference between the Note 10 Plus and Note 9's battery, but it's still worth mentioning. The Note 10 Plus boasts a 4,300 mAH battery compared to the Note 9's 4,000 mAh battery.

One thing to consider is that the Note 10 Plus supports both fast charging and reverse charging, giving you more options and a faster charging speed than the Note 9 can offer.

The reverse charging feature will let you power up other devices, such as a friend's smartphone, your Galaxy Buds or your Galaxy Watch Active 2.

Display and design

When it comes to the display and design of the Note 9 vs Note 10 Plus, you'll notice that the Note 10 Plus is rather larger. On the Note 10 Plus, you'll find an impressive 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED with dimensions of 6.39×3.04×0.31 inches. The Note 9, however, has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display and dimensions of 6.37×3.01×0.35 inches.

While the Note 10 Plus has the bigger display and is the overall bigger device, it's actually thinner and lighter than the Note 9, weighing just 196g compared to the Note 9's 201g.

The Note 10 Plus received a slight design makeover, removing the top bezel in exchange for a small hole on the screen where the front-facing camera sits. Both models have a curved glass back with metal framing and offer IP68 ratings for water resistance.

One change users may not like about the Note 10 Plus is the removal of the headphone jack. Unlike the Note 9, the Note 10 Plus no longer has a 3.5mm audio port, and so Note 10 Plus owners will have to make do with Bluetooth headphones instead.

Camera

If you're looking for a phone with impressive camera specs, you'll probably want the Note 10 Plus. The difference between Note 9 and Note 10 Plus cameras is strikingly obvious. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus has a triple-lens rear camera system, giving it the upper hand when compared to the Note 9's dual-lens cameras.

The Note 10 Plus' triple-lens camera system has 16-megapixel ultra-wide, 12-megapixel wide and 12-megapixel telephoto lenses in addition to the 10-megapixel front-facing camera. The Note 9's selfie shooter is only 8 megapixels, while the dual-lens camera system offers a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens.

And the differences between the Samsung Note 10 Plus vs Note 9 camera specs don't stop there. The Note 10 Plus has a few extra features exclusively for recording video that the Note 9 lacks, including an AR Doodle feature and Live Focus.

Features

The Note 10 Plus introduces some neat new tricks into the fold when it comes to the S Pen. You'll now be able to use the S Pen as a remote control to perform tasks on certain apps, for example, you can use it to skip tracks on Spotify or take selfies from afar.

However, the Note 9 doesn't support this handy feature and so you'll have to do with the more limited S Pen functions. You'll still be able to use your S Pen for taking notes and drawing though!

Performance

In terms of performance, both phones can handle themselves well. The Galaxy Note 10 Plus uses the Snapdragon 855 chip, while the Note 9 uses the previous year's Snapdragon 845.

Comparing the Note 9 vs Note 10 Plus, you'll also notice that the Note 10 Plus has 12GB of RAM – that's a decent amount more than the Note 9's 6GB and 8GB options.

While the difference in RAM and processors won't make too much difference in terms of performance, you'll find that the Note 10 Plus will deliver a slightly smoother, snappier performance when using the camera and performing intensive tasks.

However, the Note 9's RAM and processor should still offer more than enough for most people's needs.
