USB-C Port

Legislation was passed requiring Apple to make sure all their electronic devices had USB-C ports by 2024 if they wanted to keep selling them in the EU. This legislation pushed Apple to swap out the lightning port for a USB-C port in time for the iPhone 15 launch. This means that the entire iPhone 15 series has a USB-C charging port, so your old iPhone charger won’t fit. The iPhone 14 range, however, still supports the previous Lighting port.

Dynamic Island

Apple fans were thrilled when the Dynamic Island feature was introduced to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max in September 2022. Yes, you had to pay a bit more cash if you wanted this specific feature, but thanks to the iPhone 15, that’s no longer the case. The Dynamic Island is essentially an oval-shaped cut-out at the top of the screen and is a pretty handy feature that can display notifications, incoming calls, and alerts without opening or touching your phone. The entire iPhone 15 series features the Dynamic Island, whereas only the iPhone 14 Pro models sport the new feature.

Wireless charging upgrade

If you’re a fan of wireless charging, then listen up! The iPhone 15 models all support 15-watt wireless charging using the Qi2 standard and are paving the way for new charging abilities, as 15W is currently only available on Apple MagSafe accessories.

The iPhone 14 camera set-up is decent and it even sports a 48MP sensor, which is only exclusive to the Pro models. Surprisingly, this is the exact same main lens featured on the iPhone 15. In terms of the Pro model camera abilities, there’s not too much to set the models apart. The iPhone 14 Pro Max offers super-high-resolution photos in 48MP, while the 15 Pro and Pro Max offers the same super-high-resolution photos in both 24MP and 48MP.
