Using iTunes Store
If you’re looking for an easy way to use your favourite song as your iPhone ringtone, buying a ringtone on the iTunes Store is the best option. Here’s how to do it:
- Open the iTunes Store app.
- Tap More.
- Tap Tones.
- Find a ringtone you want to buy, then tap the price.
- Choose an option to set the ringtone automatically or tap Done to decide later (you may need to enter your Apple ID password to complete your purchase).
- Your new ringtone is set!
Using GarageBand
Want to know how to change iPhone ringtone to any song? To set a song as your ringtone it needs to be saved in your Files app or downloaded on the Apple Music app. Then you’ll have to create a loop of that song in GarageBand and export it as a ringtone. Here’s how to do it:
- Download the song you’d like and save it to Files app or download your song from the Apple Music app.
- Download GarageBand and open the app.
- Select Audio Recorder from the swipe-through menu.
- Tap the grey lines icon in the upper left-hand corner.
- Tap the blue metronome icon in the upper middle of the screen.
- Tap the grey loop icon in the upper right-hand corner.
- Find the song you want to use as your ringtone in Files or Music at the top of the screen.
- Drag and drop the song into the workspace.
- Tap the small grey plus arrow in the upper right-hand corner.
- Change the section length from eight to thirty (that is the length of a ringtone)
- Tap the song, select Trim and drag the audio around to get your desired 30-second section.
- Tap the grey arrow in the upper left-hand corner and select My Songs.
- Long hold on your song to rename the file
- Long hold your song again and select Share
- Select Ringtone.
- Tap Continue.
- Select Export.
- Tap the option you want the ringtone to be and select Done.
- Your customised ringtone snippet is ready!
How to change your iPhone ringtone to another preset ringtone

- Open Settings.
