iPhone 15 models – Compare specifications, camera & design

Thinking of buying an iPhone 15 but not sure if it’s worth the upgrade? We’re here to help! In this blog, we’ll compare the specifications, camera capabilities, and design elements of each iPhone 15 model. Whether you’re an Apple enthusiast looking for an upgrade or just curious to see how good the iPhone 15 range actually is, here’s everything you need to know about the iPhone 15 series!

In this blog:

iPhone 15

So what’s go good about the iPhone 15? Well, first off, the entire iPhone 15 series includes the Dynamic Island, a feature that was previously reserved for the Pro models only.

In terms of the iPhone 15 design, it looks pretty similar to the iPhone 14 with a 6.1-inch display. There are some differences to the design though, like the switch from Lightning to a new USB-C charging port. While the move to USB-C makes sense in the long run, if you don’t have any other USB-C devices, this change could be a bit of a pain.

Despite the addition of the Dynamic Island, the iPhone 15 doesn’t have Always On display. However, it does come in six new pastel colours, including pink, blue, green, black and yellow. This model is powered by the A16 bionic chip, which is actually the same chip used in the iPhone 14 Pro models, so it’s not much of a power upgrade if you’ve already got the iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max.

The iPhone 15 got some serious camera upgrades, with a advanced dual-camera system equipped with a 48MP main and ultra wide lense. This model still doesn’t offer ProMotion technology, but it does have 24MP and 48MP resolutions and next-generation portraits with focus and depth control.

iPhone 15 Plus

The iPhone 15 Plus is almost identical to the iPhone 15. It features the usual 6.7-inch display we’ve seen on previous Plus models, along with the iPhone 14 Pro’s A16 chipset. You’ll find the same USB-C charging port on the iPhone 15 Plus and it’s available in the same pastel colours as the iPhone 15.

There are some differences between the two models though, including obvious larger display and a bigger battery. The iPhone 15 Plus camera, like the iPhone 15, doesn’t include ProMotion technology or Always On display, but it does sport the Dynamic Island.

When compared to the iPhone 14 Plus, you’ll get an extra 2x optical zoom, upgraded 24MP and 48MP cameras and of course, the newer A16 chip and Dynamic Island.

iPhone 15 Pro

If you’re hoping for some new and exciting features on the iPhone 15 Pro, you’re in for a treat! The iPhone 15 Pro features a more recent and more powerful A17 chip, along with the USB-C charging port and the Dynamic Island.

Wondering if the iPhone 15 Pro design is any different? The Pro models have been upgraded to a titanium frame and the ring/silent switch has been replaced with a customisable action button. As for the iPhone 15 Pro colours, you can choose between natural titanium, black titanium, white titanium and blue titanium.

The iPhone 15 Pro has the same 6.1-inch display as the iPhone 14 Pro, and for the most part, the camera specs are very similar. You’ll find the same 48MP  triple camera setup, however, the iPhone 15 Pro offers 24MP and 48MP super-high resolutions along with next-generation portraits with focus and depth control.

iPhone 15 Pro Max

Like the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is extremely similar to the iPhone 15 Pro model. In fact, apart from the increased battery life and bigger display, they’re almost identical.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max has the same battery life as the previous iPhone 14 Pro Max model, however it sports the new A17 chip and has a new titanium design. You’ll get the same 6.7-inch display as usual, and you’ll be able to choose from the same colour palette as the iPhone 15 Pro models.

In terms of camera capabilities, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a little more power under the hood. Instead of the 1x, 2x and 3x optical zoom both the iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro models offer, the iPhone 15 Pro Max can go up to 5x zoom.

If you were hoping to get the iPhone 15 Pro Max with 128GB, you’ll be disappointed, as this model starts at 256GB.
